Fog to Continue till Mid-February – Motorway Fog Alert for Travelers

The National Drought Monitoring Centre (NDMC) of Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has prepared a report, The Drought Bulletin of Pakistan.

In order to combat the nation’s floods and droughts, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has recommended the construction of both big and small dams in catchment areas. This is especially important in order to preserve rainfall water during the monsoon season.

Motorway Fog Alert

According to the report, most of the country’s plains are expected to see frequent fog from January to mid-February. This continuing fog will have an impact on the nation’s transportation system and crop growth. Extreme care should be taken if proceeding to travel due to motorway fog.

The extended dry and cloudy weather coupled with below-average temperatures may cause energy consumption to rise throughout the harsh winter months.

According to the report, no regions of the nation have reported any effects of the drought. Normal for the forecast season over eastern regions, with a tendency toward below-normal nighttime temperatures over western regions.
